Community Wellness Groups
Community Wellness Groups provide many of the professional insights available in psychotherapy while also offering the benefit of social connection. They do not, however, provide private and individualized support.

About GRoups
How groups work: you meet with your group facilitator and other group registrants to listen to a short lesson, complete activities and discuss on that session’s topic.
Schedule: 1.5 hour sessions, every week for 8-10 weeks, as specified during the registration process.
Community Wellness Groups at Mental Refuge
We offer the following groups:
Self-Care for the Self-Sustaining: discussing concepts and strategies related to ‘self-care’ – that is, practices that nourish our physical, psychological, social/communal, creative, spiritual and intellectual selves – for those who are under-resourced in terms of time, space, money and energy.
LGBTQ+ and Racialized: discussing the politics and practicalities of inhabiting multiple and intersecting categories of marginalization, and strategies for wellness in the context of systemic disadvantage.
Loving our Children while Loving Ourselves: discussing concepts related to modern parenting, and strategies for wellness in the context of new routines, constraints and demands.
While in Waiting: discussing concepts and strategies for wellness in the context of a refugee claim or another period of transitional uncertainty.
